Reading Bioclimatic Pergola
A free-standing bioclimatic pergola with a remote-controlled louvred roof, designed as an outdoor kitchen and dining area, installed in Reading, Berkshire.
This freestanding bioclimatic pergola was designed to make better use of the garden, creating a sheltered outdoor space for cooking, dining and entertaining. To accommodate the client’s requirements, one side of the structure was fitted with a timber wall, alongside an outdoor kitchen equipped with a barbecue grill, sink with tap, fridge and spacious countertops for food preparation.
A dedicated dining area completes the installation, allowing guests to enjoy meals prepared and served directly from the outdoor kitchen. The layout brings cooking and dining together in one convenient space, making it ideal for hosting family and friends outdoors.
The pergola features adjustable aluminium louvred roof slats operated by remote control, giving the client greater control over sunlight and shelter. The louvres can be opened to let in more natural light and fresh air, or closed to provide shade and protection from rain. This flexibility allows the outdoor kitchen and dining area to be enjoyed in a wider range of weather conditions.
